Every Webpage Is a Room. You Just Couldn't See Who Else Was In It — Until Now.

Every webpage is a room full of people — you just couldn't see them. Basement is a mobile browser where any URL becomes a live chat. Browse together, drop stickers on the web, and never miss what's trending. Free on iOS.

Every Webpage Is a Room. You Just Couldn't See Who Else Was In It — Until Now.

You're reading an article. A Reddit thread. Browsing a brand's new drop. And somewhere out there, hundreds — maybe thousands — of other people are on that exact same page, right now. Thinking the same thing. Reacting to the same moment. But you'd never know it, because the browser was never built for that.

We built Basement to change that.

The web was supposed to be social. Somewhere along the way, it forgot.

Social media gave us feeds. Group chats gave us threads. But the actual web — the place where we read, shop, discover, and obsess — stayed silent. You browse alone. You always have.

Basement is a mobile browser where every webpage becomes a live chat room. Open any URL and you'll see who else is there. Talk to them. React with them. It's the layer of connection that should have existed from day one.

No new platform to learn. No profile to build. Just open Basement instead of Safari, and suddenly the web has people in it.

Here's what you can do today

Chat on any page. Land on a site and start talking to the people already there. Whether it's a product page, a news article, or something completely random at 2am — there's a conversation waiting to happen.

Tag your friends. Mention someone and they get a push notification, no matter where they are. Found something wild? Pull your people in.

Drop stickers on the web. Drag a sticker onto any webpage and leave it for others to find. Think of it like tagging a wall, except the wall is the entire internet. Your friends will find them. Strangers will too.

Explore what's hot. See which sites are buzzing right now and jump into the conversation. Basement surfaces where the energy is so you never miss what's happening.

Why we built this

We kept asking ourselves a simple question: who else is looking at this right now?

Every viral moment, every product launch, every breaking story — millions of people converge on the same pages at the same time. And they have zero way to connect with each other in that moment. The existing options are fragmented. You screenshot and post to Twitter. You drop a link in a group chat. You're always pulling the conversation away from where it started.

Basement keeps it right there. On the page. In real time.

This is just the start

We're launching on iOS today with the core experience — browse, chat, sticker, explore. But we're already building what comes next.

IRL Stickers will bring Basement beyond the screen, letting you attach chats to real-world places and things. The same spontaneous connection you get on a webpage, but anchored to the physical world around you.

The browser hasn't had a real evolution in over a decade. We think it's time it became something you actually want to open — not just a utility, but a place where things happen.
